On Sunday Night April 22, 2007, during a family meeting, the Elders of the Berry’s Chapel church
laid out a significant challenge to the congregation with the unveiling of the “Beyond Bricks”
Campaign. The challenge was on the surface financial, but it was made clear to all that the
challenge was of an intensely spiritual nature.
|
|
It is time for us to expand our local ministry with the addition of a building that will give us
much flexibility not only in our education program, but also in our community outreach. The
campaign is challenging us to look beyond the bricks and mortar of a new building to see how this
tool can be used for the purposes of ministry.

|
On Commitment Sunday, May 6, 2007, the congregation committed more than $800,000 to the building
fund over the next three years. Commitments and special contributions continue to be added to this
number and we are well on our way to paying for this new construction.

|
The elders' commitment from the beginning has been that no money would be taken from missions or
ministry to build this building. As a matter of faith in God and in the congregation, the elders
have committed to raise the funds to build 7 orphans homes for Mission Lazarus in Honduras during
the next 5 years. At Berry’s Chapel we are learning to look Beyond the Bricks with eyes of faith,
rather than being limited by our eyes of flesh.
